This 9-day Serengeti & cultural tour is designed for travelers and adventurous people dreaming of engaging themselves in African Immersive Culture with its diverse landscapes and visiting the top Northern Tanzania wildlife destinations. It offers an authentic Maasai cultural experience located in the secluded area between Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru, Flamingos nature walks at one of the famous breeding sites in East Africa – Lake Natron. This tour will next take you to Serengeti National Park. Serengeti is best known for its huge herds of wildebeest migration and other large ungulates, also home to larger cat populations than anywhere else in Africa. You will complete your lifetime’s adventure by visiting the most famous archaeological site in East Africa – The Olduvai Gorge Museum. Take a deep breath while descending into the world’s largest intact Caldera- the Ngorongoro Crater. The crater is home to more than 25000 mammals including the Big 5. ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival – Kilimanjaro International Airport
Welcome to Tanzania! Upon your arrival after finalizing the immigration formalities you will be welcomed and assisted by your Tanzania Voyages guide. You will be transferred to your accommodation. Depending on your time of arrival, you may do any optional activities available. Full board accommodation at Africa Amini Alama Lodge
Day 2: Maasai Cultural Activities
Today you will spend the all day experiencing this special place. Enjoy a guided nature walk with the Maasai people through the bush and learn more about the various herbal natural remedies, learn how to throw spear, sunset singing and dancing ceremony with the stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro and Meru. You will be able to learn more about the Maasai tradition through stories around the campfire. Full board accommodation at Africa Amini Alama Lodge
Day 3: Lake Natron
After breakfast, you will depart for long day journey to Lake Natron (6 hr drive). Lake Natron is located in a remote and magical area of stunning Rift Valley scenery and an active volcano mountain-Oldonyo Lengai. The lake is 56 kilometers long and 24 kilometers wide and contains salt, soda, and magnesite deposits. The area receives irregular seasonal rainfall patterns, mostly between November and May. The temperatures at the lake may reach up to 42°C. It is the flamingos preferred breeding site because most other animals (predators) find its corrosive environment and high temperature of the lake as well as its high salty inhospitable. More than 2.5 million flamingos migrate here to lay their eggs and chicks hatched between September and April depending on the weather. Full board accommodation at Africa Safari Lake Natron Lodge
Day 4: Lake Natron – Northern Serengeti National Park
You will depart after breakfast, driving for about 5 hours toward North Serengeti National Park. Serengeti, among other incredible and abundant wildlife with its superb landscape is famed for the annual wildebeest migration of over 2 million wildebeest, nine hundred thousand zebras and six hundred thousand Thomson gazelles including other ungulates and predators as well. Day 5: Northern Serengeti
Begin your day with an early morning game drive in the Northern Serengeti territory, capturing the early wildebeest crossing the Mara River. Experience the interactions among the different species of animals and enjoy the unique atmosphere around you. Return to your accommodation for hot lunch and followed by a brief siesta. You will have a sunset game drive then return to the camp. Full board accommodation at Baobab Migration Camp
Day 6: Northern Serengeti
After breakfast, you will have the whole day game drive with picnic lunch set on the bush with stunning view of Mara River and beautiful landscapes of Serengeti and Masai Mara from a distance. Witness the awe-inspiring of the wildebeest migration crossing the Mara River with Crocodiles waiting for their rare opportunities of hunting. You will also have a chance to spot the Big five animals with your knowledgeable private guide. Full board accommodation at Baobab Migration Camp
Day 7: Northern Serengeti – Central Serengeti
After breakfast, you will leave the camp with picnic lunch for a day long game drive en route to the Central Serengeti. The Seronera area is well-known as the safari paradise with stunning scenery, abundant resident wildlife species, particularly the Big 5 animals. Full board accommodation at Nyota Luxury Camp
Day 8: Central Serengeti – Ngorongoro Highlands
Today you will have a leisurely breakfast at the camp, followed by a half day game drive around central Serengeti. You will stop at Naabi Gate for picnic lunch and obtaining the entry permit to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will have a stop at the famous archaeological site Museum in East Africa – The Olduvai Gorge. Enjoy this fascinating museum tour and the lecture from the museum Archaeologists. Day 9: Ngorongoro Crater – Kilimanjaro International Airport
You will have early breakfast, drive to into Ngorongoro Crater with your picnic lunch. Descend the 1800 feet to the crater floor which covers 304 square kilometers and start your game drive. More than 25000 mammal species live here including the rare Black rhino, making the crater the best place to spot the Big 5 animals only in one day. The crater also has one of the highest carnivore populations in the world. After your picnic lunch at Ngoitoktok Hippo pool you will ascend the crater and proceed to Arusha for overnight or transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your home departure.
