Trekking Mount Longido with Tanzania Voyages

To begin your Mount Longido trek, you will be picked up from your place of resident in the morning and driven from Arusha. En route, you will pass through Maasai regions on your way to Longido Village. Here, experienced Maasai warrior guides will receive you. The hike begins from Longido Village with a steady elevation gain that enables you to set your eyes on the dry savannas, which later transform into a green forest. As the hunt progresses, you will come across exotic birds, buffalo, baboons as well as monkeys. The last tier up Mount Longido (2,637m) involves waking up early and allows you to fully experience the magnificent view of Mount Meru, Mount Kilimanjaro and the plains of Tanzania in their morning glory. Because the landscape is so unique and distinct, the view from the top of the mountain is unparalleled and makes the climb worth it. After taking in the sight and capturing it, you will begin your descent back through the forest. Take note of the scenic views and wildlife rich areas as they will offer you great vistas while you descend to Longido Village. Here you will have the chance to meet a few of the local Maasai and learn first hand about their lives, daily activities, traditions and crafts before the conclusion of the trek.
