This 6-day Epic safaris and culture is designed for travellers and adventurous people dreaming to engage themselves in an African immersive culture with its diverse landscapes. Start your memorable Tanzania safaris by engaging in an authentic Maasai cultural experience. Through a cultural tour, we aim to connect you with an experience that shows the local culture respectfully, which is also worthwhile for both sides. The tour will also give you a taste of the famous Northern Tanzania wildlife destinations, including Tarangire National Park, famous for its large concentration of elephants. The tour will also take you through Mto wa Mbu village for a cultural tour, and witness the stunning mountain view around the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Have a full immersion with Hadzabe – the last true nomadic hunter-gatherers and Datoga tribes at Lake Eyasi, near the Western wall escarpment of the Great Rift Valley. Complete your memorable trip by visiting the world‘s largest intact caldera – the Ngorongoro Crater, known for its dense wildlife, including the Big Five animals. This is a private guided safari that can be customized accordingly depending on your interests and wishes.

Day 1

Arrival – Kilimanjaro International Airport

Welcome to Tanzania! Upon arrival, after finalizing the immigration formalities, you will be warmly met and assisted by your Tanzania Voyages guide/representative. You will be transferred to your accommodation. Depending on the time of arrival, you may do any optional activities available. Overnight at Original Maasai Lodge

Day 2

Maasai Activities

It is another day in Tanzania! Start your day by enjoying the stunning sunrise and Mount Kilimanjaro view from your lodge. After breakfast, you will have a guided nature walk with the Maasai people through the bush and learn more about the various natural herbal remedies, and visit the school. Enjoy your hot lunch at the lodge. In the evening, you will engage again in other Maasai activities such as learning how to throw a spear, learn more about Maasai tradition and culture through stories around the campfire. There will be a sunset singing and dancing ceremony with the stunning view of Mount Kilimanjaro and Meru. Full board accommodation at Original Maasai Lodge

Day 3

Maasai Lodge to Tarangire

After breakfast, you will drive to Tarangire National Park, your first step to the wild on your private safari vehicle. Tarangire boasts a healthy population of wildlife, both predators and herbivores. The park is also famous for its large population of elephants, which you may see wandering through the park and across the Tarangire River. Enjoy watching them congregating at the waterholes, drinking, and wallowing to cool off from the hot midday sun. Tarangire is well-known for its ancient giant baobab trees towering above the savanna. While in the park, you will also see giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, waterbucks, impalas, leopards, cheetahs, and a pride of lions. Lunch will be served at the picnic site inside the park, after the game drive, and you will drive to your accommodation. Full board accommodation at Sangaiwe Tented Lodge

Day 4

Tarangire To Mto wa Mbu

Enjoy your breakfast at the lodge before heading to Mto wa Mbu Village. Mto wa Mbu village is one of the fascinating cultural villages you can explore while on a safari in Northern Tanzania. The village has a vibrant culture with over 120 ethnic tribes that live here. Enjoy cycling or walking through the banana farming village, visit the local market and check out the different stalls of spices, fruits, and different foods, take a tour to the waterfall, and cycle around Lake Manyara. After this fantastic cultural excursion, you will be served with a locally prepared hot lunch, followed by a 2-hour drive to Lake Eyasi for the Hadzabe/Bushmen hunting activities. Day 5

Bushmen and Datoga excursion to Karatu

Have an early morning breakfast before heading out to the bush for the Hadzabe tribe visit. Join the Hadzabe men in the morning hunting for their daily subsistence using traditional bow and arrows, or join the women as they forage for fruits, berries, and roots. This is not a show or a “tourist put on”. This is an authentic cultural exchange. They grow no food, raise no livestock, and live without rules or calendars. They are living a hunter-gatherer existence that is little different from 10,000 years ago. You will also visit the blacksmith – the Datoga tribe before having your picnic lunch. After lunch, you will drive back to Karatu town and enjoy your leisurely evening at the lodge. Full board accommodation at Eileen‘s Trees Inn

Day 6

Ngorongoro crater to Arusha

Have an early breakfast ready for the breathtaking visit to Ngorongoro Crater. The crater is the largest intact caldera created when a large volcano exploded and collapsed downward on its own, forming a million years ago, covering an area of 304 km². The crater floor is made of savanna grassland, acacia forest, and swamps, which boast some of the densest large mammal populations, including the fabled Big Five. The crater is home to a large number of predators, including lions, leopards, hyenas, jackals, as well as a large population of wildebeest, zebras, hippos, buffalo, elephants, and endangered black rhinos. After the thrills and excitement of the day’s game drive, you will have a picnic lunch in the crater. Thereafter, we will make our way back to Arusha or Kilimanjaro International
Airport, depending on your plan.
